One day Sally Godard stumbled across Libros Para Pueblos’ website and had an idea that would change the lives of more than 100 children in a small village in Mexico. She rallied her friends and family into raising $1500 dollars to open a library in the farming village of San Lucas Tlanichico. They also provided another $1000 dollars to buy furniture. A teacher in the group put together an interchange between the Oaxacan children and her class in the US. Daughter Carey came to Oaxaca for the festive grand opening in June 2007. Thank You! Last
year the number of Libros Para Pueblos libraries grew to 28 locations
where children can put their hands on fun books to read. The endless
hours of herding goats or sitting behind a stall in the market can now
be filled with pleasure and adventure thanks to the generosity of our
